A configurable distributed operating system
Based on the Linux Foundation's DANOS project, Elster OS is a configurable distributed operating system specifically designed for disconnected, intermittent, and lossy (DIL) network environments. Ideal for testing distributed systems in austere, contested, or infrastructure-denied scenarios.
Built-in vplane supports connecting multiple nodes in a dynamic, secure mesh network that is resilient to packet loss, high latency, and intermittent connectivity. Nodes automatically reconnect and routes self-heal when links degrade or fail.
Currently under active development and testing.
